This is my favorite Tsukii moment. Totally love Tsukii in this. He looks amazing in this picture.
Honestly my favorite character in the entire series. I relate to him a lot, a snarky laid back character that doesn’t like having a person bossing over them too much and doesn’t mind taking a more supportive role and stepping away from the limelight.
His growth in the series is awesome too, we are shown that he despises being on the losing end almost right away during the 3v3 match, and even though he isn’t shown to put much effort into the training camps, he ends up growing into a dependable blocker capable of supporting his team with his knowledge and skill. When he finally got THAT block I honestly teared up. All his effort was rewarded in that instant. It was only a point. But that point sealed tsukki into a great character capable of being more.
I just have to say this guy is my favorite among the series. Have fallen for him (lol) but the first time he was introduced I didn’t like him and his attitude. His development showed not only on his skills but also on his attitude (on volleyball and with the other characters). I am excited to see what’s going to happen with his future development.
I think Tsukishima does enjoy, and has always enjoyed, playing volleyball.
When we see him as a kid he’s obviously into playing, and probably the biggest reason for this is because his older brother plays, and he idolizes his older brother.
Then his brother fails in a really, really humiliating way, has his ace spot taken from him by a more talented player, and Tsukishima decides the problem is that his brother cared too much. If Tsukishima doesn’t get that invested, if Tsukishima doesn’t care, then he won’t set himself up for failure and hurt like his brother did. So he keeps part of himself back, so when that (seemingly inevitable) failure comes, he can save face.
Yup that block against Ushiwaka was one heck of a moment. Love rewatching it again and again once in a while for motivation.
Tsukki is one of those characters who isn’t big on expressing his emotions. But, when he does it’s amaaaaaazing to watch him. “tapaka ippom”
