Netflix has been continuously rolling out new shows for the Indian market. The latest being Selection Day based off Booker Prize winning author Arvind Adiga’s novel of the same name. The ending of Selection Day was different than what I had expected. It was a cliffhanger.
So there is a good chance that we will get to see another season of this show. In the last episode, Manju goes to the principle’s office to say something but that’s all we know. What did Manju want to say to the principal? That he wanted to become a scientist and not a cricketer. That he played cricket only because his dad forced him to? Or was there something else.
In Radha’s case he is seen getting beaten by thugs. Who were the thugs? Did they want something in return? Who did they do all this for? We don’t have answers for any of these questions. But let’s hope to learn more about it in the second season of selection day.
Personally I feel the thugs were sent by Javed to avenge the loss of the record. But one thing which was slightly off-track was the fact that Javed never really seemed like a talent. He was supposed to be just another show off, but he showed class. Netflix should’ve put a little more effort into his character.
That aside, the show was really great and I really can’t wait for the second season. Did you guys enjoy the show? Do let me know about it via the comments section.
