Anime is home to a lot of great romances! While we love watching characters navigate the world of love and filling us with warm feelings, there is one setting that some fans complain about: high school.

It’s true, a lot of anime is set in high school, which can be a turn off to some fans. Not wanting to deprive the world of anime romance, here are some love stories that do not take place in high school nor do they involve high schoolers!

1.Golden Time

Golden Time follows Banri Tada, a young man who suffers from amnesia due to an accident. After befriending Mitsuo Yanagisawa, Banri decides to start a new life while attending law school at Tokyo. 5. Plastic Memories

18-year-old Tsukasa Mizugaki has failed his college entrance exams, but due to his father’s influence, lands a job at SAI Corp. This corporation is responsible for creating Giftias, which are near-human androids but have a lifespan of 81,920 hours.

Tsukasa is assigned to Terminal Service One, a station who is responsible for collecting expiring Giftias before they become hostile. On his first day, Tsukasa is partnered up with a Giftia named Isla, who is considered the best at Giftia retrieval.

6.Spice and Wolf

Holo is a powerful wolf deity who is worshiped in the small town of Pasloe for blessing their annual harvest. But, as the town moves away from agriculture and worships Holo less, she decides to travel to the town of Yoitsu with a merchant named Kraft Lawrence.

7. Servant x Service

Unable to accept the fact he owes Nino his life, he demands to know how to repay her. Nino’s request is simple: be her boyfriend and live with her under the Arakawa Bridge. 11. Nana

15. Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team

The events take place during The One Year War. Zeon and the Earth Federation are engaged in guerrilla warfare in Southeast Asia. The series focuses on two star-crossed lovers fighting on opposite sides of the war: Zeon pilot Aina Sahalin and Earth Federation pilot Shiro Amada.
