Durarara!! is an anime series directed by Takahiro Omori and co-produced by Brain’s Base. The episodes were adapted from the light novels of the same name, originally written by Ryōgo Narita and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda.
In the city of Ikebukuro there were two living urban legends, one was the “Black Rider” and other was “Slasher”. The “Black Rider” Celty Sturluson is what you call a dullahan, a body without a head. The “Slasher” Saika (currently in the possession of Anri Sonohara chan) is an entity that manifests itself. According to legend it is a cursed Japanese sword.
If you are looking for something dark and eccentric, then Durarara is the way to go. The anime is a classic example of dark anime with very minimal light screens and scenes. In fact, the anime is so dark that you literally can’t find a cute moment. If you are all tsun-tsun then this anime isn’t for you.

I belive they are created by the same person and plus there are two characters from baccano in durarara
Baccano! was the first story in the same universe as DRRR!!, we actually meet some of the characters at the end of DRRR!!’s first season when Mikado calls the meeting of the Dollars and Baccano! plays on the ad screen while Masaomi is showing Mikado around Ikebukuro in the first episode. Additionally there is a third anime in this universe called Vamp!, all three are written by Ryohgo Narita.
