Netflix has been on a roll lately. First, they crossed over 45 million views for Bird Box, and within a few days they released the first ever one of a kind interactive movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. For some people Black Mirror: Bandersnatch isn’t loading. Let’s explore the probable reasons.
First and foremost check if your device is compatible
Interactivity on Netflix isn’t new. They had started it off back in 2017 with Puss in the boots. Back then, there were some issues. According to Netflix, the following devices won’t work when it comes to Bandersnatch.
- Windows App
- Chromecasts
- Browsers which use Sliverlight, basically Firefox and Edge. It does work on Google Chrome though, but make sure that your browser is up to date.
- Older Roku Boxes ( The newer ones work)
- Nintendo Wii
If it didn’t work on any one of these devices then try watching on another device or maybe switching the browser. It’s totally worth the trouble.
My device is compatible, yet bandersnatch isn’t loading
In this case, it’s most likely due to an update. If you are on Android and iOS, update your Netflix app to the latest versions as this is one of the primary reasons. It was less than a week ago that Android users got an update, so there’s a good chance that you haven’t updated the app yet.
Another thing which you need to know is you need atleast Android 6.19 or higher to run interactive episodes, so if you’re device is running any version below that then it won’t work.
For users who are using Xbox and Playstations, make sure to update the apps via the stores. It’s been sometime since the update came out, but there’s a good chance that you missed it. So update it and you’re good to go.
If you are facing trouble despite everything, then feel free to ask me, I’ll do my best to help you. Have fun with bandersnatch 🙂
