9 Tsundere Boys in Anime You’ll Absolutely Love!

What is a tsundere?

According to jishoo, tsundere stands for someone being sarcastic and sharp on the outside and soft on the inside. Over the decade, tsundere anime and characters have managed to grab the spotlight from typical Shounen. Let’s take a look at some of the best tsundere boys in anime.

  • Emiya Shirou from Fate / Stay Night
  • Barnaby from Tiger and Bunny
  • Nezumi from No.6
  • Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist
  • Kei Takashima from Special A
  • Killua from Hunter X Hunter
  • Kyuubi from Naruto
  • Sei Handa from Barkamon
  • Emira Shirou from Fate Stay/Night
  • England from Hetalia

 Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist

male tsundere

Even though Edward Elric is sensitive about his height, there’s a side of him which is fairly composed. He often puts up a ‘tough guy stance’ in front of his peers but has a soft side when it comes to his brother and Winry. Since his tsun-tsun side isn’t all that tsun-tsun, he is at the bottom of my list.

Kei Takishima from Special A

tsundere boy

Kei Takashima has just one principle, “if you have a crush on a girl, just be mean to her”. But he isn’t really mean, he often demeans girls and then follows up with suite of awesomeness. That aside, deep down he’s a real Tsun with lot to offer.

 Barnaby from Tiger & Bunny

tsundere boy

How can someone be stoic and awesome at the same time? ask Barnaby. He doesn’t get into fights unless needed, the only reason he acts is to gain fame and hero points. After being coupled with Kotetsu, his cold side slowly starts melting and we get to see a lighter side of him. He is like the vanilla of male tsunderes. Cool and collected!

Nezumi from No. 6

male tsundere

At the beginning of No.6, Nezumi is potrayed as a rude criminal with no tolerance. To add it was his straight forwardness, and the hatred against people he manifested over time. But, with time he slowly starts displaying his softer side. Despite being cold at times, he is your typical tsundere boy.
