Anime and Manga Crossovers Every Otaku Should Experience
Crossovers tend to thrive in the world of fanfiction. How else could we read about Goku taking on the Titans with a Spirit Bomb? But it doesn’t always have to be that way. Thanks to fever dreams and a love of money, some companies have created official crossovers for some of our favorite anime and manga series!
1. Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle
An alternate universe setting that brings together characters from Cardcaptor Sakura, RG Veda, X/1999, and xxxHolic.
2. Cross Epoch (Dragon Ball x One Piece)
What happens when the biggest shonen franchises meet? Fun and joy are what happens
3. Dream 9 Super Collaboration Special
Two-part anime special created to celebrate three years of the Toriko anime. A race for tasty and expensive meat has never been so intense. This is one of the best anime and manga crossover.
4. Fairy Tail x Rave
Hiro Mashima created this special crossover to two of his most popular works, and it was later animated as an OVA special. It’s great to see the characters from Rave animated again.
5. Fairy Megane (Fairy Tail x Flunk Punk Rumble)
Hiro Mashima teamed up with his former assistant Mika Yoshikawa (creator of Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) to create this cross over about a group of student who mistakes the Fairy Tail guild for a company.
6. Attack on Avengers
Created as an 8 page special for Free Comic Book Day, this is a bizarre cross over between Attack on Titan and Marvel’s Avengers. At least it’s free to read, right?
7. CB Chara Go Nagai World
Take Go Nagai’s beloved and dark works, chibi-fy them, and you have yourself one enjoyable cross over series.
8. Lupin III vs. Detective Conan
The world’s greatest thief and the world’s greatest detective team up to solve a pair of mysterious deaths. A sequel was also made.
9. Carnival Phantasm
Take the beloved characters from the Nasuverse and place them in one of the most fun series you’ll ever see. It’s so good to finally see Tsukihime in an anime!
10. Toriko x One Piece
Toriko and One Piece has collaborated for one manga special and two anime specials in the past. This makes sense since the two mangaka are great friends. One of the best anime and manga crossover.
11. Pretty Cure All Stars
There are three absolutes in life: death, taxes, and Pretty Cure All Stars movies. The cross over movies has been released yearly since 2009, each with varying degrees of quality.
12. A Magnificent Banquet
Shokugeki no Soma is known for, ahem, foodgasms. So you can expect plenty of fanservice when some of the heroines of Shonen Jump are invited to eat at a banquet.
13. J-Stars Victory VS
We all have battled with fans about who we think is the strongest in the history of Jump (it’s Kenshiro damn it!). Now we can battle it out in this fun game.
14. Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax
A fast-paced fighter with beautiful 2D sprites that let’s you beat up Kirito with Shizuo Heiwajima. Friendships will be ended. Arguably, the best anime crossover.
